Located in Jefferson County between the Cahaba River and Shades Mountain lies Vestavia Hills, Alabama, was incorporated in 1950. Vestavia Hills was named about the former estate of the former Birmingham Mayor, George B. Ward. You can still see his domed gazebo, designed after the Temple of Sibyl in Trivoli, as you enter Vestavia coming from Birmingham. The City of Vestavia Hills has twice been recognized as one of the Country's Fifty Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family

Helena is a city that is located in both Jefferson and Shelby Counties. Helena along with Pelham and Alabaster make up an area that is known as North Shelby County. Helena has been on the receiving end of a lot of accolades of late starting with being named by Business Week as number 13 for the "Best Place to Raise Your Kids" in 2007. It also made Money Magazines's 2007 list of "Best Places to Live: Top 100" ranking in at number 91. Helena also has been regarded as a great place to live and raise children. Helena is home to 2005 American Idol runner up Beau Bice.

Located in Jefferson County, Mountain Brook, Alabama, was originally developed by Robert Jemison. Jemison had the help of landscape architect, Warren Manning developing estate size lots, winding roads, nature preserves, and three commercial areas, or villages. It has been noted as an affluent area having appeared in lists of America's wealthiest communities. Manning's development centered around three "villages", English Village, Mountain Brook Village, and Crestline Village. Mountain Brook is also home to some famous individuals Wayne Rogers of the hit show M*A*S*H*, Kate Jackson of the original Charlie's Angels, Bart Starr of the Green Bay Packers, and Friends actress Courtney Cox.
